Who is Scott McCormick?

Scott McCormick spent the majority of his young life as a performing and touring musician beginning at the age of 12 in Chicago, IL. He wrote music for Disney and ESPN, as well as spent a brief stint teaching at the prestigious Julliard School of Music. Upon experiencing burnout from music business, Scott craved something new and different. However, once he pushed the music world behind, a series of bad luck, deaths, divorces, and other such natural evils befell him and he found himself homeless, sleeping in Denver’s Cheesman Park for several months. During this time, he was lucky enough to escape with a few meaningful items crammed in a ratty, rolling suitcase. Some gems in the collection included a smart phone and a camera. He spent nights at Tom’s Diner on Colfax learning the art of photography and design on his cell phone.
He has developed over 300 commissioned art pieces for album covers all over the world, won several large awards, including an IBMA award for Graphic Design with a second nomination the year following. He’s done album artwork for Infamous Stringdusters’ 2017 Grammy-Award winning album “Laws of Gravity” and Gregory Alan Isakov’s current Grammy-Nominated album “Evening Machines.” McCormick has propelled his reputation by combining his photographic and design knowledge with his business and marketing experience. He has developed full brand aesthetics for Smithsonian, Broadway Musical “Qadar,” and even local Denver favorites Atomic Cowboy, and Swallow Hill Music. He continues to define his recognizable photographic style and has been seen in Rolling Stone, New York Times, Vogue, and a multitude of other publications. McCormick has recently been chosen as one of Colorado’s representatives for Month of Photography with an exhibition at Leon Gallery in 2021
